Academic Approach
ACE Curriculum
The ACE Curriculum at Light of the World Academy employs a self-paced learning model through its use of PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education), which divide traditional textbook content into manageable sections.
This approach allows students to progress according to their individual learning speeds, advancing quickly in areas where they excel and taking additional time where needed. Each subject consists of 12 PACEs, integrating both academic content and biblical principles to build a solid educational foundation while reinforcing Christian values.
The curriculum follows a mastery-based progression, where students must demonstrate a thorough understanding of each PACE before moving on, ensuring a deep and comprehensive grasp of the material.
This individualized instruction means students advance based on their own mastery rather than being held back or pushed forward by their peers.
Biblical principles are woven throughout the curriculum, with an emphasis on Scripture memory and character-building, aiming to develop well-rounded students who are both academically proficient and spiritually grounded.
Enrichment Programs
Enrichment programs at Light of the World Academy provide diverse learning experiences that cater to various learning styles, including auditory, visual, and kinetic. These programs include trade shop classes, music, art, and more, offering students opportunities to explore their interests and talents beyond the core curriculum. By engaging in these activities, students not only enhance their creativity and critical thinking skills but also experience personal growth and development in a supportive environment.
Weekly Chapel Services
Weekly chapel services offer students a time for worship, prayer, and reflection, reinforcing the biblical teachings integrated into their daily learning. These services promote spiritual growth and foster a sense of community within the school, helping students connect their faith with everyday life. Chapel gatherings also strengthen the bonds between students, teachers, and staff, creating a unified and purpose-driven school environment.
